Depression
No,
we are not talking about the great depression, The two forms
or types of depression discussed below are: 1) normal depression,
and that of 2) clinical depression.
All forms of depression are normal, given the different experiences
we go through in life. The primary difference is the length of time,
or period the subject remains depressed.
Some challenges in life that don’t work out are easy to overcome,
while others, such as severe illness, or the unexpected death of a child,
take longer to deal with, due to the meaning of the loss to the subject.
We all combat loss and disappointment in different ways. And we have
different strengths and experiences in life to provide us with what
we may need for upcoming challenges.
It is widely suggested that with some forms of depression e.g.
chronic depression, that the subject take prescribed drugs.
I am strongly against this, and I agree with Milton Erickson
in that drugs prevent communication and understanding during the grieving
process, and should be abstained from so that healing could commence.
Self hypnosis is a wonderful
tool, along with auto-analysis to help one overcome their depression.
Positive affirmations, along with creating short and long-term goals
help recreate a sense of focus and purpose in life. Then through the
process of achieving the goals one has set, one’s self worth begins
to grow.
Activities, whether they be sports or hobbies help keep the body and
mind redirected in a positive form. In fact, I believe that the greater
the challenge and the more energy required, the better to help along
with the healing.
Having someone special in their life is possibly the greatest asset,
because everyone needs someone to love. If there isn’t a special
someone, then they could look forward to the thought that one day, when
they least expect it, if they’ve kept themselves focused, growing
and improving, that they will be that much better, and possibly attract
their heart’s desires when time allows.
Again, I’ll say that with self hypnosis all challenges
quickly become a thing of the past. It is simply a matter of desire,
determination, and a chosen direction. With the proper application all
is conquerable.
One
more thought:
If sometimes you feel yourself belittled, useless,
offended and depressed, always remember that at the beginning of your
life, you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm out of hundreds
of millions, and so, just like riding a bike, you can overcome any challenge
