Benefits of Hypnosis

Welcome to our benefits of hypnosis page. Years ago my first encounters with hypnosis were filled with mystery and excitement; the unknown? Funny as it seems, the more I learn about hypnosis, the more mysterious it seems, and it's purpose was the greatest mystery of all, hence this page on the many benefits of hypnosis.

When asked about hypnosis, my answers differ from person to person. My relationship to, and my personal knowledge of the questioners own life experiences will reflect upon my answer/s about hypnosis including the benefits of hypnosis.

Generally the basic explanation that I provide is a simple one.
Hypnosis is a state of both physical and mental relaxation, which allows for an enhancement of the physical and mental senses when required, and facilitates learning and the input of personally preferred information because, in the relaxed state of hypnosis, that part of you that cares about what might be fact or fantasy takes a break, allowing such information to pass into your mind without question - yet remains ready to stop and protect you if there is anything that might harm you, or be contrary to your own moral objective. With this relaxed allowance present, it is possible to input new learning and bypass that part of you which you might normally have to fight with (generally referred to as will power, or the unconscious), making new learnings and changes easier and faster, which is the primary benefit of hynosis. For a greater elaboration about hypnosis have a look through this link Defining Hypnosis.

The most important thing to remember about hypnosis is this, whether lead by a guide, or done on one’s own, all hypnosis is self hypnosis.

There are a myriad number of benefits of hypnosis, and yes self hypnosis. You can accelerate learning in all areas such as developing memory recall, creativity, and loose fears and phobias such as youor public-speaking ability. Unwanted habits and weight loss and control can quickly become past anxieties. Phobias can be reduced or eliminated altogether. You can find long lost objects and sleep easy if you have been troubled with insomnia. Medical challenges become less worrisome due to pain control techniques, and positive recovery suggestions. All this and more would lead to a more fulfilling life full of limitless possibilities.

I have used it on myself, as well as friends, NLP clients, my students, and peers at the boxing club at which I train Siam #1 in Toronto.

On myself I have used self hypnosis for my meditations, Spanish language studies, memory improvement, simple relaxation, physical fitness improvements, and it’s the main ingredient when photo-reading.

With friends and associates I have used hypnosis to eliminate fears, improve their study time, and increase productivity in their work.

With my NLP clients, one could say that they are entranced as soon as they begin to visualize or feel something within. With a little more emphasis put on the hypnotic side of NLP, the elimination of the critical faculty allows for improved results during changework.

In my classes I focus on hypnotic language techniques and metaphor to set certain scenes and get the message across. I also teach my students how to relax and improve their memory for testing.

At my health club, Siam #1 Thai Boxing, as a senior student, it is my duty to assist other students in the art. I teach them visualization techniques to improve their abilities with sports hypnosis, and to be able to use their least favored side e.g. right or left-handed, as efficiently as their dominant side.

Suggestion (in its most potent form – hypnosis) establishes the capacity for conditioning and formation of habit patterns that exceeds those that are developed by ordinary means. With repetitive reinforcement through auto hypnosis is utilized, healthy responses become autonomous. Hypnotic conditioning can reduce the fears and anxieties which exacerbate attacks in cardiacs to instill optimism and feelings of well being. Hypnotic conditioning also modifies or ameliorates organic conditions having a large psychogenic component; this occurs irrespective of whether the latter produced the illness or is the result of an organic disease.

Hypnorelaxation generally expedites therapy by counter-conditioning anxiety, particularly in those who are affect-blocked, the increased relaxation, concentration, and cooperation allow them to talk more freely about their problems. As a result, the greater self-objectivity provides new ideas and understandings of the nature of their symptoms.

Auto hypnosis can also be employed for self-exploration – when the symptom is removed by the patient rather than by the hypnotherapist, this accomplishment leads to longer lasting results.

A prime indication for hypnotherapy is that hypochondrias is induced by alarmist health columns, magazine articles or remarks of well-meaning friends.

In essential hypertension; stress due to chronic and inhibited rage, is considered one important factor. Post hypnotic suggestions, together with sensory-imagery conditioning under auto hypnosis, potentate drug therapy in reducing the blood pressure.

Individuals with other types of hypertension can be taught specifically how to relax and to develop a better comprehension of their problems as well as their capabilities to cope with their everyday tensions.

Hypnosis has been employed successfully to decrease anxiety and the likelihood of arrhythmias during cardiac catheterization.

Psychosomatic gastrointestinal disorders are, in part, produced by emotional factors and visceral reactions to physical stressors. Hypnotherapy has proven to be beneficial to many patients who were unable to respond to a wide variety of medical measures. This approach has afforded considerable relief of pain, spasms, and other related disorders such as heartburn, nausea, pylorospasm, eructation's, and other symptoms. Sensory conditioning and glove anesthesia are valuable adjunctive procedures.

Hypnosis has been used to assist in the treatment of tuberculosis, migraines, arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes, obesity, hyperthyroidism, anorexia nervosa, bronchial asthma, and various kinds of allergies. So as everyone can see clearly, the benefits of hypnosis are many, and I have not even touched the surface of the matter. In fact no matter what you do, or are after, hypnosis improves and makes absolutley everything in life easier and more fullfilling, how is that for the many benefits of hypnosis.
